What this is

LastHammer tells you what wine has actually sold for at auction. You get it two ways: a browser extension that puts the last price next to the lot you are looking at, and a search here on the site that can also value a whole cellar from a list.

The numbers are hammer prices per bottle, with the buyer's premium taken off. They are refreshed every night.

These are past sales, not valuations

We tell you what comparable bottles have sold for. That is not the same as what yours is worth.

We match lots to past sales automatically, and sometimes we get it wrong. We cannot see condition, provenance or how a bottle was kept, and those move a price more than anything else does. And we only know what we hold: the houses we cover, for the period we have.

Your key

One key is assigned per person, and it can be used on up to three browsers.

Do not share it or sell it. Do not go at the data in bulk — there are daily limits, and we will slow down or close an account that tries.

Subscriptions

Seven days free. We take a card at sign-up and charge nothing until the trial ends.

It renews until you stop it. Cancel from the portal linked in your receipt, whenever you like, and you keep what you have paid for until that period runs out.

Your first charge is covered by the 30-day guarantee.

Lookup credits

Buy a block, search a wine.

A credit is spent only when we come back with prices. If we have no sale on record, you pay nothing. Look the same wine up again inside 30 days and that is free too.

Credits last 12 months from your most recent purchase. Buy more and your whole remaining balance gets another 12 months.

They work on the search here. They do not switch on badges in the extension — that is what a subscription is for.

They belong to one key. You cannot pass them on or sell them, and they are not money. Unused ones are refundable under the guarantee. If we close an account for breaking these terms, whatever is left goes with it.

Cellar evaluations

Send us a list of your wines and we send it back with prices on it. Three sizes, by how many rows your file has, up to two thousand wines. Longer than that and we would rather talk to you first.

Before you pay we tell you how many of your wines we hold sales for. That number is about coverage, not value, and you will not see a price until you buy.

A monthly subscription includes one evaluation of up to 500 wines each calendar month. A yearly subscription includes one of up to two thousand each calendar quarter, and can also have it evaluated and emailed automatically, if you switch that on. A list longer than your plan includes is not refused — you are quoted for the size it actually is.

If what arrives does not match the count we showed you, say so and you get your money back. You can download it for a while — we tell you how long at the time — and then we delete both the evaluation and the list you sent.

Paying

Our payment partner is the seller of record. They take the money, handle the tax and send your receipt. Your card never touches us.

Getting your money back

Thirty days, no reason needed. The whole of it is on the refund page.

Changes

Which sites we support, what we cover and what the thing does will all move over time. If we change something here that matters to you, we will email you before it takes effect.
