What the extension sends us
When you open an auction page we support, the extension sends us the lot titles on that page, the vintage and bottle size where the page shows them, and which site you are on. It also sends your key and a random id for that browser install.
It does not send the page address, your bids, your account on the auction site, or anything at all from any other site.
What we keep
- Your licence: your email, which of our plans or credit packs you bought from us, whether it is active, when it renews, and which browsers you have activated.
- A daily count per key: how many lots were looked up and how many we could price. Not the titles.
- A wrong-match report, but only when you press the button: the lot title, the vintage, and what we matched it to.
We do not keep lot titles from lookups, and we do not keep IP addresses. To spot someone abusing a key we count how many distinct network ranges it is used from in a day, and that count is worked out in memory.
To be plain about the obvious question: we do not know what wine you buy. We are not told which lots you bid on or which you won, the auction houses do not report it to us, and the extension does not send it. The only purchases we know about are the ones you make from us.
There is one exception to what we keep, and it is the next section.
If you buy credits
We keep a note of which wines your key has been charged for, so that you are not charged twice for the same one inside the free window. What we store is the matched wine and vintage, tidied into a standard form — not the words you typed — and it is deleted 30 days after the charge.
We also keep a statement of your purchases and the balance after each one. That is how a balance can be checked or a refund worked out, and it stays for as long as the licence does.
If you ask for a quarterly evaluation
A yearly subscription can have its cellar re-priced and emailed once a quarter. That only works if we keep your list, so we only keep it if you ask for it — nothing is stored on our side unless you switch this on.
What we keep is the list of wines you gave us and the address to send it to. We use it for nothing else. Switch it off and the list is deleted; cancel your subscription and it is deleted too.
Your cellar list in the extension
The list you import in the options page stays in your browser. Each line goes to our server once, to be turned into a lookup key, and the server keeps nothing from that request.
Files you upload here
We process them and use them for nothing else.
A file uploaded just for the free coverage count is deleted within 24 hours. If you buy the report, we keep your file and the report until the download window closes, and then delete both. We do not keep your list afterwards, and we do not feed it into our own data.
Paying
Our payment partner takes the payment and is the seller of record. They see your card details; we never do. What reaches us is your email address, which of our plans or credit packs you bought, and whether it is still live. They handle your details under their own privacy policy.
Cookies
None for tracking. The app page keeps your key in your browser so you stay signed in.
Auction alerts
If you ask for alerts, we store the email address you give us, which sales you switched on, and when we wrote to you. Nothing is sent until you confirm the address from the first message, and every alert carries an unsubscribe link that clears your switches.
