Wine Auctioneer
One online auction a month, with lots stored in Scotland and in the Netherlands.
The last hammer price on every lot at wineauctioneer.com, while you browse. Free for fourteen days.
- Site: wineauctioneer.com
- Where: Perth (Scotland) and Utrecht, online
- Buyer's premium LastHammer removes: 17.5% plus VAT
- What LastHammer does here: Puts badges on the monthly catalogue and on each lot's page, and keeps its sales in our price records under UK and Europe, converted to US dollars at the sale date's rate.
Prices from Wine Auctioneer show on your badges once you switch on the UK or Europe, on the search page or in the extension's options. The badge is US-only until you do, because a wine in bond in London or Geneva often sells for less than the same bottle in New York. Hammers below are in the house's own currency, with US dollars under them.

Why hammer priceMost houses publish the hammer price plus their buyer's premium, 10% to 25%. Two houses reporting $1,250 and $1,170 may both have had a $1,000 hammer. We take the premium off and divide by the bottles in the lot.
So a price at Wine Auctioneer means the same as a price anywhere else. Every house and its premium. What a hammer price is.
